Each practitioner is fully trained and Certified in the Eagala method of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning. They have a passion for  Horses and their ability to connect with humans on so many levels. Combined with this, all of the Mental Health Professionals are fully qualified and accredited to a governing body. Caitriona Lyons

 Caitriona is the founder of Kerry Equine Therapies and Counselling, where she combined two of her life passions horse's and a persons mental well- being.


She is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and has being working in the mental health and Equine industry for over 20 years.

Caitriona First trained as an Equine Assisted Therapist (with EAGALA) in 2015.


Caitriona areas of experience include anxiety, depression, dual diagnosis, sexual violence, addiction, trauma and family work.

She loves working with people to 'spark' change in their lives!

Sally Hayes

Sally is very presence oriented and enjoys working in a relational way, drawing from an integration of therapeutic modalities according to what best fits the  client.

Sally is genuinely interested in supporting individuals on their journey, with a holistic approach focusing on both the mind and the body to offer possibilities for managing feelings in everyday life and developing healthy ways of coping with stress and anxiety.


Sally believes that it is through the relationship and connection with another (horse and human) that a person is given the opportunity to make sense of their experiences. In this meaning making, a person can make changes which enable them to live life as fully as possible.

Sally’s areas of experience include self-esteem, personal development, relationship issues, trauma, communication, anxiety, stress, depression, loss and grief.

Sally is a certified Eagala Equine Assisted Mental Health Professional and an IACP accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor.

Louise Beecher

Louise works with adults, teenagers, families, and groups, offering a warm, supportive space where people can explore life's challenges and work towards positive change.

She has a particular interest in anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, grief and loss, trauma, attachment, relationship difficulties, identity, neurodiversity, and personal development.

As an accredited integrative psychotherapist, Louise tailors her approach to suit each person's individual needs, recognising that no two people or experiences are the same. She works collaboratively with clients to help them build insight, resilience, and lasting change.

Alongside her clinical work, Louise is an Assistant Lecturer at Munster Technological University (MTU). She has also carried out research into equine-assisted psychotherapy and the role of nature connection in supporting mental health, an area she is particularly passionate about.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Louise spent over 18 years working in social care with people with intellectual disabilities and autism, young people in care, people experiencing homelessness, and those living with mental health difficulties. This experience continues to shape her practice, bringing a deep understanding of the challenges people face and the importance of compassionate, person-centred support.

Máire Kennedy

Máire is an Art Psychotherapist as well as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, with a particular focus on complex trauma and attachment difficulties. Máire has over 30 years clinical experience, working with children, adolescents and families.

A lifelong horse lover, she is also qualified as an equine assisted learning facilitator, a life coach and is an Eagala certified Mental Health Professional. 

Máire has a particular interest in the power of metaphor and story as well as in non-verbal communication and embodiment.

She is deeply appreciative of the healing presence of horses and the insights that can be gained through interacting with them.

Siobhan Wallace

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I work with adolescents, adults, families, groups, and organisations. My work is person-centred and trauma-informed. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I adapt my approach to meet Individual client needs within the therapeutic setting.
I have a particular interest in working with experiences such as grief and loss, cancer-related challenges, attachment difficulties, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and personal growth. I also enjoy supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism and ADHD.
 I trained to become an equine-assisted psychotherapist after experiencing my own powerful healing and growth through connection with horses. I am particularly drawn to this way of working as it offers an embodied non-verbal experience of communication and relationships. 
Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I worked for 29 years in Senior Management roles in the Banking Industry in Ireland and the UK. My areas of specialism were Risk Management and People Leadership. I was an organisational lead for Wellbeing, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, supporting colleagues through education and strategic initiatives.

Naimh Harney

Niamh has worked with horses for over 35years as a riding instructor and horse trainer. Over that time she observed the positive impact that being around horses has on people of all ages. This inspired Niamh to look deeper into the

horse-human connection and the therapeutic value that it offered.

 In 2015 she came across the Eagala model of equine assisted psychotherapy and trained to become an Eagala Certified Equine Specialist. 

Since then Niamh has partnered with mental health professionals using the Eagala model to provide equine assisted counselling and psychotherapy for children, adolescence and families.

Also providing equine assisted learning workshops and programs for many groups of children, Teens and Adults.

Anne O' Riordan

Hi I’m Anne and I’m an Eagala Certified Equine Specialist  

Horses became part of my life when I was twelve and I became a horse owner at twenty four. I now have my own property that’s home to me, my dog, cats and horses. 

Here at Slánú Services we welcome you to just be you. I’m lucky to have several Mental Health Professionals that are also Eagala Certified to team with to help you. 

I love that Eagala sessions are not talk therapy sessions. Yes you are free to talk as much or as little as you want to. We are here to guide you with our four legged teammates.

Erin Moriarty

Erin is a certified Mental Health Professional with Eagala, having first trained in 2024. Erin recognizes that different approaches work for different people, and connecting with horses can sometimes foster change that is hard to achieve within an office. She brings a lifelong love of horses and is approaching ten years of experience as a counsellor, specializing in addiction/recovery, dual diagnosis, and EUPD/BPD. Erin initially qualified in the USA with a Masters in Social Work and Certificate in Mental Health, and she is due to complete a Masters in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at IICP in Dublin in 2026.
